Influence means attraction. The yielding rises, the firm descends.
咸,感也。柔上而剛下。

咸其拇。
Influencing the toe: the intention is directed outward.
咸其拇,志在外也。
The influence stirs the calves — misfortune. Staying still brings good fortune.
咸其腓凶,居吉。
Although inauspicious, staying brings good fortune; compliance does no harm.
虽凶居吉,順不害也。
The influence stirs the thighs; clinging to what one follows — going on brings humiliation.
咸其股,執其隨,往吝。
Influencing the thigh: it does not remain. The intention is to follow others, so its grasp is low.
咸其股,亦不处也。志在隨人,所執下也。
Perseverance brings good fortune; remorse fades. Restless coming and going — friends follow your thoughts.
貞吉悔亡,憧憧往來,朋從尔思。
Perseverance brings good fortune, regret vanishes: no harm has yet been felt. Restless coming and going: it has not yet become great and bright.
貞吉悔亡,未感害也。憧憧往來,未光大也。
The influence stirs the muscles of the back — steady. No remorse.
咸其脢,无悔。
Influencing the back: the intention is on trivial matters.
咸其脢,志末也。
The influence stirs the jaws, cheeks, and tongue.
咸其輔頰舌。
Influencing the jaw, cheeks, and tongue: this is gushing speech.
