蹇，難也，險在前也。

往蹇來譽。
Going is difficult, coming is praised; it is appropriate to wait.
往蹇來譽，宜待也。
The king's servant meets obstruction upon obstruction — not for his own sake.
王臣蹇蹇，匪躬之故。
The ruler's minister struggles through difficulties; in the end, no fault.
王臣蹇蹇，終无尤也。
Going forward meets obstruction; coming back, he turns around.
往蹇來反。
Going is difficult, coming back; the interior rejoices.
往蹇來反，內喜之也。

往蹇來連。
Going is difficult, coming connects; the position is substantial.
往蹇來連，當位實也。
In great obstruction, friends come.
大蹇朋來。
Great difficulty, friends arrive, through moderation within.
大蹇朋來，以中節也。

往蹇來碩，吉。利見大人。
Going is difficult, coming is abundant; the will is inward. It is favorable to see the great person, to follow the noble.
往蹇來碩，志在內也。利見大人，以從貴也。
