臀困于株木,入于幽谷,三歲不覿。
Entering the dark valley, it is dim and unclear.
入于幽谷,幽不明也。
Oppressed amid wine and food; the crimson sash arrives — favorable for offering. Advancing brings misfortune, but no blame.
困于酒食,朱紱方來,利用享祀。征凶,无咎。
Trapped by food and drink, the center brings celebration.
困于酒食,中有慶也。
Oppressed by stone, leaning on thistles, entering the house and not seeing his wife. Misfortune.
困于石,據于蒺藜,入于其宮,不见其妻,凶。
Resting on thorns, riding on strength. Entering the house but not seeing his wife, this is inauspicious.
據于蒺藜,乘剛也。入于其宮不見其妻,不詳也。
Coming slowly, slowly, oppressed by the golden carriage — humiliation, but an end.
來徐徐,困于金車,吝,有終。
Coming slowly, the intent is below. Though the position is not fitting, there is support.
來徐徐,志在下也。雖不當位,有與也。
Nose and feet cut off, oppressed by the scarlet sash — slowly comes release. Favorable for sacrifice.
劓刖,困于赤紱,乃徐有說,利用祭祀。
Its purpose is not yet fulfilled. Then gradually there is release, because of holding to the center. Offering sacrifice brings blessing.
劓刖,志未得也。乃徐有說,以中直也。利用祭祀,受福也。
Oppressed by creeping vines on the trembling heights — moving brings regret, but repent and advance: good fortune.
困于葛藟,于臲卼,曰動悔有悔,征吉。
Entangled in thorns, the position is not fitting. Regret over moving brings regret; moving on brings good fortune.
