The shock comes terrifying. Fear brings blessing. Laughter and chatter — afterward there is order.
震來虩虩,恐致福也。笑言啞啞,后有則也。
Thunder comes with danger — treasures lost, fleeing up the nine hills. Do not chase; in seven days they are found.
震来厉,亿丧贝跻于九陵,勿逐,七日得。
Shock brings danger, because it rides on strength.
震來厲,乘剛也。
Thunder brings trembling — if thunder moves you to act, no disaster.
震苏苏,震行无眚。
Shock makes one slack, because position is not fitting.
震苏苏,位不当也。
Thunder sinks into the mud.
震遂泥。
Shock gets stuck in mud, its light is not yet shown.
震遂泥,未光也。
Thunder comes and goes — great loss is feared, yet nothing of the work is lost.
震往来,億无丧有事。
Shock comes and goes — a perilous path. But the matter is centered, so no great loss.
震往来,危行也。其事在中,大无丧也。
Thunder brings shrinking and wild glances — advancing brings misfortune. The thunder strikes not him but his neighbor — no blame. The marriage kin will have words.
震索索,视矍矯,征凶。震不于其躬,于其邻,无咎。婚媾有言。
Shock trembles, the center is not found. Though misfortune, no blame — fear and heed your neighbor's warning.
震索索,中未得也。雖凶无咎,畏邻戒也。
