Humility succeeds. The way of heaven reaches down to help and bring light.
謙亨，天道下濟而光明。
Six Lines · 六爻
Modest and humble. Crossing the great river. Fortune.
謙謙君子，用涉大川，吉。
The modest person humbly tends to themselves.
謙謙君子，卑以自牧也。
Proclaiming modesty. Perseverance brings fortune.
鳴謙，貞吉。
Humble modesty brings perseverance fortune, from the heart's truth.
鳴謙貞吉，中心得也。
Laboring in modesty. The superior person completes things. Fortune.
勞謙，君子有終，吉。
The modest person who works hard earns the submission of all.
勞謙君子，万民服也。
Nothing unfavorable. Wielding modesty.
无不利，撝謙。
No disadvantage in displaying modesty, as it does not violate principle.
无不利撝謙，不違則也。
Not enriched by neighbors. Favorable to attack. Nothing unfavorable.
不富以其鄰，利用侵伐，无不利。
Advantageous to invade, to subdue those who do not submit.
利用侵伐，征不服也。
Proclaiming modesty. Favorable to mobilize the army and march.
鳴謙，利用行師，征邑國。
Humble modesty, but the goal not yet achieved. It can be used to lead an army to attack the towns.
鳴謙，志未得也。可用行師征邑國也。
