The strong responds, and its purpose prevails.
豫，剛應而志行。
Six Lines · 六爻
Proclaiming enthusiasm. Misfortune.
鳴豫，凶。
Sounding pleasure early, will exhausted, brings misfortune.
初六鸣豫，志穷凶也。
Firm as a rock. Not a whole day passes. Perseverance brings fortune.
介于石，不終日，貞吉。
Not persisting all day brings perseverance fortune, because of holding to the center.
不終日貞吉，以中正也。
Looking up in enthusiasm. Remorse. Delay brings more remorse.
盱豫，悔。遲有悔。
Looking to pleasure brings regret, as the position is wrong.
盱豫有悔，位不当也。
The source of enthusiasm. Great gain. Do not doubt — friends gather.
由豫，大有得。勿疑朋盍簪。
Through pleasure, great gains; the will is greatly realized.
由豫大有得，志大行也。
Persistently ill but never dying.
貞疾，恆不死。
Perseverance brings affliction, riding on strength. Yet constant vitality, the center not lost.
六五貞疾，乘剛也。恆不死，中未亡也。
Darkened enthusiasm. Completion with change. No blame.
冥豫，成有渝，无咎。
Dark pleasure at the top, how can it last?
冥豫在上，何可長也？
