Progressing yet pushed back — perseverance brings good fortune. Not yet trusted, remain at ease — no blame.
晉如摧如，貞吉。罔孚裕，无咎。
Advancing then blocked, acting alone in correctness. Relaxed and blameless, not yet having received a mandate.
晉如摧如，獨行正也。裕无咎，未受命也。
Progressing with sorrow — perseverance brings good fortune. Receiving great blessing from the ancestress.
晉如愁如，貞吉。受茲介福，于其王母。
Receiving this great blessing, because of centered correctness.
受茲介福，以中正也。
Trusted by all. Remorse fades.
衆允，悔亡。
The will of the many accords, moving upward.
衆允之志，上行也。
Progressing like the squirrel that tries everything and masters nothing — perseverance is dangerous.
晉如鼫鼠，貞厲。
The rat perseveres dangerously; the position is not fitting.
鼫鼠貞厲，位不當也。
Remorse fades. Take no thought of gain or loss — advancing brings good fortune. Nothing unfavorable.
悔亡，失得勿恤。往吉，无不利。
Loss and gain not considered; going forward brings celebration.
失得勿注，往有慶也。
Progressing with the horns — only for disciplining one's own city. Danger, good fortune, no blame; perseverance brings humiliation.
晉其角，維用伐邑，厲吉，无咎。貞吝。
Using it to attack the city; the way is not yet bright.
維用伐邑，道未光也。
